One of the cool things about knowing another language is that it opens up a whole new part of the world to you, an alternative way of seeing things, an opportunity to experience something new and different.
Other times, however, it just helps you appreciate more fully how much we all have in common, such as this story from today's edition of the San José, Costa Rica paper La Nación:
Zombies atacaron anoche a San José
Yes, you read that right, "Zombies attacked San José last night."
En el recorrido, del Morazán a la Plaza de la Cultura y luego hasta Barrio La California, la misión fue la misma: asustar al transeúnte josefino sin golpes ni mordiscos.
Along the route, from Morazán Park to the Plaza de la Cultura and then to the La California Neighborhood, the mission was the same: frighten San José residents who were passing by, without [resorting to] hits or bites.
